Trance Pt. 1

Kit stared into the light, unaware that the whole class was staring at her. Even old Mr. Gunkle, who was rumored to have taught through an earthquake, had stopped his droning, and watched the girl walk toward the flickering fluorescent light in the middle of the room. She was an unknown, a nobody, but she held there attention just as strongly as she unknowingly held the trance. She stepped directly under the light, and it shone. The dazzling light blinded her audience, but they could not look away. When she opened her mouth, their thoughts poured out, echoing against the industrial grey walls and worn linoleum floor.
